Its been a great winter and spring of chinook fishing in local waters and the trend will hopefully continue. Most trips we are hooking several fish and the ratio of undersize fish to keepers is good. There are good numbers of teenagers and low 20’s coming in and now that Aril is here. We will see a few more chinook in the high 20’s as May gets closer just like last year. The Vancouver harbour has been good for our shorter charters and Howe Sound and Bowen Island has been better for our full day charters. Crabbing has been good as well. The anchovy and herring biomass in the area is healthy so the chinook are staying put and feeding aggressively. We have just started to transition to our annal offshore chinook fishery around Bowen Island and in the mid strait and soon we will be heading over to the Gulf Islands for the fantastic chinook fishing for May and June. We have added an exciting new ‘Fish and Stay’ package for the Gulf Islands this year where you can enjoy 2 days of 10 hours of fishing for salmon and cod and a nights stay at the cozy Page’s Resort and Marina Cottages on Gabriola island. This is ideal for those wanting to get away for a few days of fishing and as well as a short break from the grind. Check out our package prices under Gulf Islands Fishing on our website.
We are out lots this April and May so check in with us and stay tuned for the fishing reports to come. We are extending our winter/spring chinook special until June 1 so book now while we have some space left. These are the best prices in town by far!
