We were out yesterday for a short fish off the north arm of the Fraser River and hooked several sockeye. Lots of fish starting to show up from Pt. Grey to the South arm. The morning bite seems to be the most active with several fish hooked. The afternoons have been a bit slower as the fish tend to go deeper and not be as aggressive. The key has been many dummy flasher and lots of gear in the water and keep trolling over the schools until you find the biters. The sockeye are big and beautiful this year. Many over 10lbs. Great eating fish and a great fight. Double and triple headers are common. The bulk of the run has yet to show up. Within another week we will see piles more sockeye showing up and the fishing is going to go from great to ridiculous! We saw a few big chinook caught as well yesterday. Some of the biggest chinook of the year are always caught on sockeye gear. See you on the salt chuck.
